Sick building, sicker profits
Well-designed offices could save employers up to £3,000 a
year per worker, writes Jim Pollard. The working environment has
never been top of management's priorities. The result, say experts,
is workplaces that kill creativity, increase absenteeism, and undermine
productivity. They are even implicated in this winter's flu outbreak.
In contrast, well designed workplaces produce savings of 3 to 15
per cent - worth up to £3,000 per person a year on a £20,000
salary.
